This program is open to researchers employed by commercial life science organizations including biotech, pharma, and CRO companies. Teams working with rat FFPE tissue are also eligible. Academic institutions and non-profit organizations are not eligible for this program cycle.
The Flex Apex Kit is a single-cell gene expression solution from 10x Genomics optimized for fixed samples including FFPE and other preserved formats. This makes it particularly well-suited for precious clinical and biobanked material used in drug discovery and translational research.
Yes. Admera Health now supports rat FFPE tissue on the Flex Apex platform, making this grant one of the only fully sponsored single-cell opportunities available for groups working with rat samples. This capability was recently launched and is available to all grant applicants. Grant-eligible sample types include both human and rat FFPE tissue.
All prizes include the 10x Genomics Flex Apex 96-rxn Kit and associated reagents (provided by 10x Genomics), plus library preparation and sequencing performed by Admera Health at no cost to the winner. Winners are also invited to participate in a joint webinar to present their results.
If your project requires more samples than your awarded tier, you can upgrade to a larger run at a discounted rate. The only requirement is that all samples arrive together in a single shipment. Just flag it when you are notified as a winner and the Admera Health team will work through the options with you.
An internal review committee from Admera Health and 10x Genomics evaluates all eligible applications based on three criteria: research creativity, scientific impact, and innovation. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis but all final decisions are made after the August 31 deadline.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome in September 2026. Non-winners will receive follow-up from the Admera Health team with information on standard Flex Apex service pricing and upcoming promotions. All applicants will also be invited to the joint webinar in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.
Multiple individuals from the same company may apply separately, subject to the one-entry-per-person rule. Each application must represent a distinct project and be submitted by a different individual.
Winners are strongly encouraged to participate in the joint webinar as it is a great opportunity to present your research findings and gain visibility within the single-cell genomics community.
